Ask HN: How to Learn How to Sell?

I've become convinced that "sales" is a pivotal skill that everyone should learn. You constantly have to sell: sell yourself, sell your ideas, sell your product, sell your vision. However I see no easy way to learn how to sell. For sure the direct way seems preferable (learning by doing), but having a job already + living abroad makes it a bit hard. Any tips would appreciated.
